There are two types of gel nails, hard gel and soft gel.

Hard Gel
Hard gel, once cured, is tough enough to be made into a nail extension. Nail extensions are artificial nails created by using a nail product, the idea is to extend the nail past the edge of the natural nail.

Gel polishes are used for manicures. These manicures, when done by our caring, experienced and trained professionals at Beauty Works London, are gentle to the natural nail and the polish stays on the nail for at least a couple of weeks with high shine and no cracking, peeling or chipping. Our specialist staff will advise you on how to keep them looking great until you need to rebook. We have had great feedback from our clients over the years. Many gel nail clients report that gel nails feel more natural and less rigid than acrylic nail extensions. We always get asked how long does the average manicure last for once completed, we estimate gel polish manicures can last up to 3 weeks with no chipping, peeling or cracking if you take care of them.

The aftercare.

Many of customers at Beauty Works London make appointments with us every 3rd/4th week, it’s become a norm for many, whilst others book an appointment prior to a holiday, family occasion or even just a spruce up for that feel good factor.

The one common question is how do I care for my nails when the gel nail is removed?

We recommend moisturising your nails and cuticles with Vitamin E oil when the gel is removed, this protects from the harsh stripping effect of the pure acetone. Use cuticle oil first to protect skin, and then soak your tips afterwards in a bowl of vitamin E oil. We can recommend many of these products to you when you visit and can show you steps to keep your fingertips hydrated.
